The American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE) in partnership with the Indian Society of Agricultural Engineers (ISAE), has planned for – a first of its kind international conference on Global Water Security for Agriculture and Natural Resources, scheduled to be held in 3-6 October 2018, in Hyderabad, India. The purpose of this conference is to bring farmers, researchers, practitioners, entrepreneurs, and policy makers together on a common platform to discuss current and future water security problems, share research, and discuss creative solutions that can be applicable at various scales in different regions. The conference will specifically focus on water security for producing food, fiber, and energy crops as well as maintaining water quality and quantity needed for ecosystem health and services. The conference is co-chaired by Dr. Indrajeet Chaubey of Purdue University, USA and Dr. Indra Mani from the Indian Agricultural Research Institute, India. On the ASABE side, the planning was spearheaded by the outgoing ASABE President, Dr. Steve Searcy of Texas A&M University, USA.
